Karim Benzema is all set to represent the France national team once again during this summers European Championships.

The 33-year-old Real Madrid striker had been frozen out of the national team setup for the last six years, and he will be hoping to return with a bang and guide his side to Euro 2020 glory this summer.

The last time Benzema played for France was back in 2015, and the highly experienced striker has 27 goals in 81 caps with the French national team.

The Real Madrid star has been in spectacular form for his club this season, and he will be full of motivation heading into this summer’s European Championships.

The 33-year-old has 30 goals and 9 assists to his name for Real Madrid this season in 46 matches (all competition).

Benzema will be fully aware of the fact that he will be in the limelight, and he will have to step it up if he wants to cement his place in the national team setup for the World Cup next year.

France will be considered as one of the favourites to win the Euros this summer, and they have an outstanding squad at their disposal.

It will be interesting to see if Didier Deschamps is prepared to give Karim Benzema a place in his starting line-up this summer.

Benzema’s arrival means that someone will have to drop out of the starting line-up. The likes of Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe are likely to keep their place in the starting eleven, and Benzema’s selection could hint at a potential tactical change for France as well.

Deschamps has the resources to employ two strikers with the likes of Griezmann and Benzema, both capable of dropping deep and operating as advanced playmakers.

France have been blessed with several tactically intelligent footballers who are capable of playing in multiple positions, and there could be several exciting combinations for the manager to use during this summer’s European Championships.

It will be interesting to see if Didier Deschamps can find the winning formula once again and lead the World Cup winners to European glory this time around.

As for Karim Benzema, he has been hungry for international football for years now, and there is no doubt that he will be desperate for international success with France in the summer.

A fully motivated Benzema could be a frightening prospect for opposition defenders this summer.
