Ancelotti believes Everton can soon compete for Premier League title

Carlo Ancelotti - Everton Manager

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that he hopes to challenge for the title with the Toffees soon.

Everton are currently far off the level required to push Manchester City and Liverpool but they have improved a lot since the Italian’s arrival.

They will continue to get better with time and signings. Ancelotti revealed that he has talented young players at his disposal and they have immense potential.

The likes of Calvert-Lewin, Digne, Holgate, Gomes are all superb players and with a couple of key additions Everton could easily push for the European places next season.

It will be interesting to see how Everton perform next year. Ancelotti will have to be backed in the transfer market first.

He has to be given the chance to build his own squad before Everton can be expected to challenge for the top honours.

The Everton boss also hailed the work Jurgen Klopp has done on the other half of Merseyside. It will be interesting to see if Everton can build a quality team by following in their rivals’ footsteps.

Ancelotti said to Sky Sports: “I hope soon Everton has to be competitive and fight for the first position of the Premier League with Liverpool, with Chelsea, with Tottenham, with Manchester United, with all the big teams. I don’t know how long it takes but I hope that soon we are able to compete. We have a young squad with young players with a lot of skills, a lot of ability. I think just the fact that we can improve this skill and this ability can give us more opportunity to stay at the top.”
