Glory stunned Melbourne City after scoring three goals.

Perth Glory has stunned Melbourne City with an emphatic 3-1 win as they jumped to the seventh position in the A-League table.

The home side looked dangerous in the opening minutes as Jamie Maclaren missed a great chance to beat the goalkeeper while they also had a shot denied by the post.

Perth Glory turned it to their advantage after taking the lead through a deflected goal from Daniel Stynes.

Melbourne pushed for the equaliser and they eventually got one in the 34th minute, with Maclaren not making any mistake this time in finding the nets. Craige Noone’s low-drilled shot hit the post but Maclaren was available to score on the rebound.

Not long after, Glory went ahead with a goal from Dane Ingham, who directed his header to the nets from a free-kick. Although it was initially ruled offside, VAR made it count allowing Perth to celebrate.

Trailing by a goal, the home side entered the second half with more intentions as Adrien Luna forced a save from Tando Velaphi.

However, it was Perth Glory who had the last laugh when Nicholas D’Agostino netted a towering header from another freekick to make it 3-1. The goal also proved to be the final one of the game as Melbourne suffered a shock home defeat.

City failed to build on the win against Western United and they are currently eighth in the table.

Perth Glory would be relieved to get back on the winning track after suffering back to back defeats, with one of them coming in the nine-goal thriller against Western United.
