Genoa

Genoa will look to pick up their first win in 12th tries when they welcome AC Milan to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris this Wednesday.

The hosts have not won a league game since their 3-2 win over Cagliari in September. That win remains their only league win this term.

The Grifone are currently sitting in 18th place after losing six and drawing seven of their opening 14 games.

Under the management of former AC Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko, the club has still not improved. They have failed to score in the two games he has managed (D1, L1), making them one of the worst attacking sides in the league this season.

Despite the poor record so far, the legendary Ukrainian will look to kick off his reign with a win against his former side on Wednesday.

Possible Genoa starting line-ups

Salvatore Sirigu; Andrea Cambiasso, Johan Vasquez, Andrea Masiello, Davide Biraschi, Paolo Ghiglione; Nicolo Rovella, Milan Badelj, Stefano Sturaro; Caleb Ekuban, Goran Pandev.

Injured: Mattia Destro, Domenico Criscito, Nikola Maksimovic, Felipe Caicedo, Stefano Sabelli, Mohamed Fares, Mattia Bani

AC Milan

AC Milan’s season have gone from good to bad in recent times following two consecutive losses in the league.

The visitors, after a strong start to the season, were beaten by Sassuolo over the weekend. The loss was their second loss on the bounce after starting the campaign unbeaten for 13 games.

The loss, coupled with a win for Napoli, pushed them three points behind the top of the table. Although they remain in second place, they are now just one point ahead of Inter Milan in third. They are now in danger of dropping further down unless they begin picking up points.

The Rossoneri have been unlucky with injuries though and come into this tie with at least five of their first-teamers missing due to injury.

However, Stefano Pioli’s side will now be boosted by the return of first-choice goal Mike Maignan after a spell on the sidelines.

They will be desperate for a win here, as that will boost their morale and give them some momentum ahead of a busy Christmas period.

Possible AC Milan starting line-ups

Mike Maignan; Pierre Kalulu, Matteo Gabbia, Simon Kjaer, Theo Hernandez; Ismael Bennacer, Franck Kessie; Alexis Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz, Rafael Leao; Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Injured: Samu Castillejo, Ante Rebic, Olivier Giroud, Davide Calabria

Doubtful: None

Suspended: Alessio Romagnoli

Genoa 1-3 AC Milan
