Bologna 2-4 AC Milan: Milan overcome nine-man host to climb to the top of the table

 AC Milan picked up a 4-2 win over Bologna in the Italian league earlier tonight.

Goals from Rafael Leao, Davide Calabria, Ismael Bennacer and Zlatan Ibrahimovic sealed a vital away win for the Rossonerri. Tonight’s win leaves Milan at the top of the table, one point clear of Napoli.

Double sending off

Bologna were reduced to ten men within the first 20 minutes of the match when Adama Soumaoro was sent off. 

Things went from bad to worse as Roberto Soriano picked up a red card around the hour mark leaving Bologna with just nine men on the pitch.

AC Milan made the most of the opportunity and picked up all three points in the end.

An eventful evening for Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The Swedish international is back from injury and he had an eventful game at both ends of the pitch.

The experienced striker give Bologna a way back into the game when they were 2-0 down with an own goal in the 49th minute and the home side scored the leveller shortly after through Musa Barrow.

Ibrahimovic scored the final goal of the game in the 90th minute for AC Milan as well.

Ismael Bennacer – the star of the show

The 23-year-old defensive midfielder produced a match-winning display for his side and he ended the game with a goal and an assist to his name.

The midfielder did well to shield his back four and he contributed to the offensive phase of play as well.
