Liverpool Transfer: Reds tipped to sign Ollie Watkins, Lorenzo Pellegrini and De Paul links

Watkins would be ideal for Reds, claims Robbie Fowler

Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins would be an ideal fit for Liverpoolaccording to Robbie Fowler.

The 25-year-old has been a revelation in the Premier League this season, racking up 13 goals and 4 assists. He went on to score in his debut game for the English national team.

Fowler said: “I look at Liverpool’s forward line at the moment, one that was the best in the world a year ago, and they don’t have that clarity, missed chances so obviously fog them up…so it can happen to the very, very best of us.

I look at him, and I see a striker who is prepared to learn, prepared to work. In fact, I spotted last year his work rate is incredible, and Dean Smith says he’s the best pressing centre forward in the league.

To me, that’s significant. Because what do the top teams want? A forward who performs a crucial pressing role.”

Lorenzo Pellegrini linked with a move to Anfield

Liverpool could sign AS Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini to replace exit-linked Georginio Wijnaldum.

The Italian club, who recently announced that Josh Mourinho would take over from next season, are seemingly ready to sell their star midfielder to free up funds.

Pellegrini has been impressive in an otherwise disappointing season for Roma, racking up 7 goals and 6 assists.

Reds plotting a move for De Paul

The Merseyside outfit looks to have sorted out plenty of options to replace Wijnaldum, with Udinese midfielder Rodrigo de Paul being one of them.

Liverpool have reportedly contacted Argentine’s agent Mino Raiola over a possible move whilst Udinese are likely to demand a transfer fee of £35m.
