The German manager has reportedly identified three top targets this summer.

Liverpool are gearing up for the new season after what turned out to be a fluctuating 20/21 campaign, where they failed to lift any trophy.

Jurgen Klopp has insisted the Reds’ sporting director Michael Edwards make new signings this summer in order to compete with the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea.

According to a report from Team Talk, the German manager has requested the Reds’ board to prioritise the transfers of three players.

Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans turns out to be Klopp’s personal favourite. He sees the Belgian international as an upgrade over Georginio Wijnaldum, who recently left the club to join PSG.

Tielemans has been one of the standout midfielders in the Premier League last term and scored the decisive goal to help Foxes lift the FA Cup final against Chelsea.

However, Leicester are said to be demanding a huge transfer fee for the 24-year-old, which means that the Reds could plan for a swap deal to land him at Anfield.

Klopp also highly favours Lille midfielder Renato Sanches, who caught the eyes of many with his impressive display in Euro 2020 for Portugal.

Sanches was also part of the Lille side that lifted the Ligue 1 title last season, thus putting an end to PSG’s dominance.

Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman is also on the wishlist of Klopp. However, the Bavarians wouldn’t let their talented prospect for a meagre fee. Furthermore, he has a contract running until 2024 and has also been linked with fellow English club Manchester United.

Sadio Mane had a tumultuous season last term, failing to replicate the impact he had in the previous seasons. The Senegalese forward is nearing his 30’s and Klopp is already considering options to strengthen the forward line.
