Die Borussen are in the final stage of securing a deal for PSV striker Donyell Malen.

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly closing in on the signing of PSV striker Donyell Malen.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the German club have an agreement in place with the Dutch striker and are working on the last details to finalise the deal.

The Italian journalist adds that the 22-year-old would sign a contract until 2026 with Dortmund, and medicals are expected to happen in the coming days.

Malen emerged as a top target for Die Borussen after star winger Jadon Sancho agreed to join his long-time suitors Manchester United.

Despite competition from Premier League giants like Liverpool, Dortmund managed to win the race for the Dutch youngster.

Malen had featured for the Netherlands senior team in the Euro 2020, where he showed a glimpse of his quality.

However, his impressive club form over the last two seasons has really caught the eyes of the Bundesliga outfit, as he mustered a total of 19 goals and 8 assists for PSV in the 20/21 Eredivisie season.

Besides, the Dutch star had a productive partnership with his compatriot Memphis Depay in the European Championship – racking up two assists – although the Netherlands fell short in the round-of-16.

Although he is not an out-and-out winger like Sancho, Mallen can form a lethal partnership with Erling Haaland, who is expected to stay at Dortmund beyond this summer.

Marco Rose will assume the managerial duties from next season, and he is likely to deploy Haaland and Malen as the two strikers in his preferred 4-4-2 formation.
