Real Madrid update: Zidane confirms Ronaldo links, French manager on Hazard’s latest injury setback

Cristiano Ronaldo-Juventus

Zidane confirms Real Madrid’s interest in reuniting with Ronaldo.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has admitted that the reports linking Cristiano Ronaldo to the Spanish club are true.

Ronaldo’s future at Juventus is up in the air following the Champions League elimination against Porto – the Italian giant’s third consecutive failure in the European competitions with the Portuguese star at the helm.

Furthermore, with Juve’s chances of retaining the Serie A title dwindling, Ronaldo is said to be contemplating his future at Turin.

Madrid are understood to be one of the potential suitors for the 36-year-old and Zidane has confirmed that there are possibilities for the prodigal son to return to Bernabeu.

‘Yes, there may be.

‘We know Cristiano, we know the person he is and everything he has done here.

‘But now he’s a Juventus player and we must respect this.

‘Now, let’s see what the future will be. I was lucky enough to coach him and he is very impressive. Right now, he’s helping Juventus.’

Zidane bewildered by Hazard’s injuries.

Real Madrid recently confirmed that Eden Hazard had sustained an injury in the right Psoas muscle and wouldn’t be available for the Champions League clash against Atalanta and to a lesser extent, the remainder of the season.

Zidane has been left confused with the Belgian’s recurring injury woes and stated that “something is going on.”

“I can’t say more. There are things I can’t explain… I hope, because I’m always positive, that it isn’t too much.”

“Something is going on. He’s a player who had never been injured in his career, or not many times. It’s new for him. I can’t explain more. We want him to be well, we want to help, and I hope he’ll be with us again soon.”

Hazard was one of the highly-anticipated signings in the summer of 2019 but his time at the Spanish capital club hasn’t got going due to a pile of injuries.
