Andre Silva has completed his transfer to RB Leipzig earlier today.
The 25-year-old Portuguese international was one of the best players in Germany last year, and Leipzig have moved quickly to secure his services.
The German outfit fell short in the title challenge because of the lack of a clinical goal scorer last season, and the arrival of Silva could be a transformative addition for them.
There is no doubt that the Portuguese striker is one of the best players in the league, and it will be interesting to see if he can help his side compete with Bayern Munich next season.
Silva scored 29 goals across all competitions last year, yet he has yet to hit his peak. There is no doubt that the striker could improve with experience and coaching in future. The striker picked up 10 assists as well.
According to reports, RB Leipzig will be paying a fee of around €23 million for the Portuguese international and Silva could prove to be a major bargain for that price.
The player was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League as well, but he has chosen to continue in Germany.
The 25-year-old is well settled in the Bundesliga, and he should be able to make an immediate impact for Leipzig next year.
Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see how Eintracht Frankfurt replace their star striker next season.
Silva’s departure will certainly weaken the German outfit, and they will have to bring in a reliable goalscorer to fill his void.
