Manchester United have been linked with a move for the Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling.
The winger has a contract until 2023 but he could be on the move this summer because of City’s Champions League ban.
If Sterling decides to leave City in order to play in the Champions League, there will be plenty of suitors lining up to secure his services.
It will be interesting to see if Manchester United can agree on a deal with their cross-town rivals.
Furthermore, agreeing a fee with City won’t be enough for United. They will have to agree on a package with the player as well.
Sterling might not be so keen on a move to Old Trafford given his affiliation with United’s two biggest rivals – Manchester City and Liverpool.
United have the finances to pull off a big money move but this seems like a complicated transfer.
Sterling is a world class player who would improve most teams around Europe. If United manage to sign him, he could turn them into genuine title contenders next season.
Solskjaer’s men are missing a wide goalscoring threat like him right now. He will add pace, flair and goals to the side.
Also, Sterling has learnt a lot of about passing and link up play from Rodgers and Guardiola. He will be a key creative outlet for United.
As per reports, Manchester City are not worried about losing Sterling to United for now.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks.
