RB Leipzig complete €20m transfer of Tottenham, Man United target

RB Leipzig 1-0 - Tottenham Timo Werner scored from penalty

The 24-year-old has agreed to a five-year deal to join Leipzig.

RB Leipzig have reportedly completed €20m transfer of Alexander Sorloth from Crystal Palace.

The Norwegian striker has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Bundesliga outfit.

Sorloth arrives in Bundesliga after a spectacular season with Turkish club Trabzonspor on loan. He ended up winning the Super Lig’s golden boot after netting 24 goals.

The Norwegian moved to Crystal Palace in 2018 but struggled to make his mark. He was then sent to Belgium club Genk on loan before moving to Turkey the next season.

Tottenham were said to be in his trail due to his impressive form but Die Roten Bullen have eventually won the race.

Solrloth has earned 24 caps with the Norwegian national team so far while netting eight goals.

Leipzig cite Sorloth as the replacement for Timo Werner, who left the club to join Premier League outfit, Chelsea. They also saw their loanee Patrik Schick move to Bayer Leverkusen permanently from Roma.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side is stacked with attacking options like Yussuf Poulsen, Dani Olmo and Hwang Hee-Chan, with the latter one being their new signing from Salzburg.

The South Korean attacker, who made a name for himself in the Austrian league, debuted for Leipzig against Mainz.

Leipzig started their new season on a high note with the 3-1 win against Mainz.

Sorloth has proved himself at Trabzonspor despite failing to do so in the Premier League. Now the Norwegian’s addition to Leipzig would be a great thing as they look to continue their fairytale run they had last season.
