Another weekend of Bundesliga action begins this Friday as Freiburg and Borussia Dortmund face off at the Europa-Park Stadion for what promises to be another exciting game of football.
Venue: Europa-Park Stadion (Freiburg)
Freiburg are unbeaten in their last three home meetings with Dortmund, winning the previous two.
But head coach Christian Streich has lost more times against BVB than any other team he’s faced as a coach (14 of 19 matches).
Borussia Dortmund have won their season-opener for eight years in a row, but lost on Matchday 2 in each of the previous two campaigns, including in Freiburg last term.
Freiburg’s Matthias Ginter made 102 competitive appearances for Dortmund between 2014 and 2017.
BVB’s Jude Bellingham has registered 11 goals and 18 assists across his first 92 appearances for Dortmund.
Nico Schlotterbeck made 56 appearances for Freiburg, before joining Dortmund in the summer.
Both BVB and Freiburg were the highest scorers from set pieces last Bundesliga season, with Freiburg netting 24 such goals and Dortmund scoring 22.
