Freiburg

Freiburg will look to make it two wins in two Bundesliga games when they welcome BVB to Europa Park this Friday.

The hosts continued their strong pre-season form in the opening weekend of the season, as they beat Augsburg 4-0 away from home. Goals from Michael Gregoritsch, Vincenzo Grifo, Matthias Ginter and Ritsu Doan secured the win for them and put them in second place in the league table after one round of games.

However, manager Christian Streich will know his side’s feet must stay firmly planted on the ground, especially as throughout Bundesliga history teams sitting in second place after the first matchday have been relegated more times (seven) than crowned champions (six).

His side will now welcome Dortmund to Europa Park, looking to record another win and keep themselves in the hunt for another top-six finish after they finished in sixth place last season.
