Borussia Dortmund will travel to the capital of Germany this Saturday to face Hertha Berlin in the fourth round of the 2022/23 Bundesliga season.

Venue: Olympiastadion (Berlin)

Key Statistics

Hertha Berlin are one of eight teams still waiting for a first league victory going into Matchday 4.

They have failed to win eight of their last 17 Bundesliga games when taking a lead (W9, D5, L3).

The hosts are averaging nearly 13 goal attempts per game so far.

Hertha have lost all eight home games in which they conceded first this year.

Borussia Dortmund have lost one of their last five league games.

The visitors have scored 2+ goals in four of their last five league games.

Anthony Modeste may not have found the net for Dortmund yet, but he has produced seven goals and one assist in 10 Bundesliga games against Hertha.

Head to head

Hertha Berlin have won three, drawn two and lost five of their 10 most recent Bundesliga matches at home against BVB.

Hertha Berlin

Hertha Berlin will look to get their first win of the league season when they welcome Borussia Dortmund to the capital this weekend.

The hosts who needed a playoff win to survive relegation last season have begun this season in the worst possible way, losing two of their opening four games while drawing the other.

Add their loss to the lowly Braunschweig in the DFB Pokal first round to the list and that is four games without a win for Sandro Schwarz’s side.

The German coach’s job is at stake even though sporting director Fredi Bobic has given him a vote of confidence. He will be expected to turn thighs around as soon as possible to avoid getting fully embroiled in the relegation fight this season.

But with one point on the board after three games, the ‘Old Lady’ find themselves in a precarious condition that can only change if they can begin to win matches.

However, just one win against Dortmund since 2017 (D2, L7) suggests that this might not be the match where they will pick up their first three points of the season.

Possible Hertha Berlin starting line-up

Oliver Christensen, Jonjoe Kenny, Marton Dardai, Marc-Oliver Kempf, Marvin Plattenhardt; Lucas Tousart, Ivan Sunjic, Suat Serdar; Dodi Lukebakio, Wilfried Kanga, Chidera Ejuke.

Injured: Lee Dong-Jun, Kelian Nsona, Jessic Ngankam, Linus Gechter

Doubtful: Derry Scherhant, Marvin Plattenhardt, Myziane Maolida

Suspended: Filip Uremovic

Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund will look to quickly get back to winning ways and the title track when they travel to the capital Saturday,

The visitors were all set to extend their winning start to the new campaign on Matchday 3, after holding a two-goal lead heading into the 89th minute. But Werder Bremen scored three goals in the final six minutes to inflict a first Bundesliga defeat on Edin Terzic.

The German coach described the performance as “brutally annoying and stupid”, and so, he will expect far better this time around from his charges.

With Bayern Munich already flying high in the race for the title, Dortmund cannot afford to drop another point. Given that they have won seven times in their last ten meetings with Hertha, they will come into this tie confident of getting a positive result. https://twitter.com/BlackYellow/status/1562760965984178176
