Lucas Hernandez tentative over Bayern Munich future

The French defender has endured an injury-ridden season at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez is clueless over his future at the Allianz Arena.

The Frenchman joined the Bavarians last summer from Atletico Madrid for a reported fee of € 80 millions, making him the club’s record signing.

However, his debut season hasn’t gone as planned after missing almost the entirety of the season due to knee ligament injury. The 24-year-old made only 10 appearances in the Bundesliga last term.

Hernandez has now spilled the beans upon his future with the Bavarians, stating that he could leave if the situation remains the same.

The Frenchman said: “I still have another 4 years on my contract with Bayern Munich. It will depend on this season. If it continues to be difficult like this, I will see. These are just rumours, things being said here or there, but I have not received anything. Nor has my agent, nor those close to me.”

Hernandez’s possibilities with the first team look bleak due to the presence of Alphonso Davies and David Alaba, who have etched their places in the first-team.

Nonetheless, Alaba could leave Bayern next summer, meaning that there are slightest of hopes for the former Atletico Madrid to survive.

Meanwhile, PSG are understood to be keeping tabs on Hernandez and could persuade him to return to his homeland.

Les Parisiens are in search of a new defender following the departure of club legend Thiago Silva, who recently joined Chelsea on a free transfer.
