The African continent continues to produce a pool of football talents, and, there has been a growing demand for them amongst the Europe’s top leagues – the likes of Mane, Mahrez, Ziyech and Koulibaly tells the story. In the recently-concluded transfer window, Victor Osimhen and Thomas Partey made it to the headlines following their big-money transfers.

Lets’ take a look at 10 of the most prominent African deals.

Grady Diangana

Although Diangana represents England at the international level, he has his roots with the Democratic Republic of Congo. The 22-year-old sealed his move to West Brom from West Ham United for a fee worth 13.5m euros.

Alfred Duncan

Duncan has spent around a decade in Serie A, starting his career with Inter Milan. The Ghanaian international completed his move to Fiorentina, who had obliged to buy him after a season-long loan.

Helder Costa

Helder Costa, who currently represents Portugal, was born in Angola. The 26-year-old recently made his move to Leeds United a permanent one following an impressive loan spell. The former Benfica player has cost Leeds 17.7 m euros.

Bertrand Traore

Traore was one of the most significant transfers that happened to Aston Villa in the summer transfer window. The Burkina Faso international moved to Villa Park in a deal rated to be at 20m euros after spending three seasons at Lyon.

Amad Traore

Amad Traore was one of the deadline-day transfers of Manchester United alongside the likes of Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles. United paid the Ivory Coast-bred youngster a fee of 21m euros. He is an intriguing prospect and was promoted to Atalanta first-team last season.

Edouard Mendy

Mendy joined Chelsea from Rennes on a 24m euros deal as the Londoners wanted him to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga as the first-choice goalkeeper. The Senegalese international has risen through ranks after spending most of his career with the low-level clubs in France.

Hakim Ziyech

Ziyech is another African star Chelsea signed in the transfer window. The Algerian perhaps was the first of the handful of new signings for Chelsea. The Blues announced the transfer of Ziyech earlier this year in a deal worth 40m euros.

Achraf Hakimi

Hakimi was one of the best transfers of Serie A in the summer after Inter signed him for 40m euros from Real Madrid. The Moroccan wing-back has had an impressive loan stint at Borussia Dortmund.

Thomas Partey

Partey was the talk of the town when Arsenal signed him from Atletico Madrid on the deadline day. The Gunners triggered the Ghanaian’s whopping 50m euros release clause out of nowhere.

Victor Osimhen 

Victor Osimhen became Africa’s most expensive player in history – taking the tagline from Riyad Mahrez – after Napoli signed him for a deal worth 70m euros. The Nigerian striker was also the club’s record transfer.
