Tottenham have been linked with a move for the Southampton striker Danny Ings.

The 28-year-old was in fantastic form last year and he could prove to be a quality addition to Jose Mourinho’s attack.

Ings managed to score 25 goals for Southampton last season and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can convince the Premier League side to sell the player to them this summer.

It is no secret that Tottenham will have to improve their attacking options before the transfer window closes and bringing in a quality striker should be a top priority for them.

Tottenham struggled to score goals when Harry Kane was injured last season and Danny Ings could be the ideal alternative.

Furthermore, Tottenham looked poor in the attack last night against Everton as well.

If the Londoners want to finish in the top four this season they will have to invest in a quality striker.

It remains to be seen whether they can convince the Southampton striker to join the club as well. Danny Ings is a regular starter for Southampton and he will not be keen on joining Tottenham as a backup to Harry Kane.

Mourinho will have to promise him regular first in football in order to persuade the player to move to London.

The former Liverpool player is certainly good enough to play for a team challenging for European qualification and he could prove to be the ideal addition for Spurs.
