Roy Hodgson heaps praise on Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze

Eberechi Eze-Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze was in outstanding form against Leeds United in the Premier League last week and he has claimed that he is only just getting started.

The Eagles spent £20m for the 22-year-old winger earlier this summer and he has been a very exciting signing for them so far.

The former QPR player is highly talented and it is fair to assume that he will only improve with time.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has also heaped praise on the 22-year-old claiming that it was the right time to unleash the youngster against Leeds United.

The Palace winger scored a stunning free-kick against Leeds United and the Whites struggled to cope with his flair and pace throughout the game.

It will be interesting to see how Eberechi Eze develops over the next few months. He has the talent to develop into a top-class Premier League player and it remains to be seen whether Roy Hodgson can help him achieve his potential at Selhurst Park.

The fans will certainly be excited to see him develop over the next few years and they will be hoping that he can be the ideal long term replacement for their star winger Wilfried Zaha.

“I think it is only the start,” said Eze. “I think we are working hard. I am learning a lot and I am growing as a player.

“That is the most important thing – as long as I keep learning and keep pushing and keep working with the guys around me, and those are people to look at. It is a great opportunity for me.”

“He has looked at home ever since he arrived, his training sessions have been constantly impressive,” said Hodgson

“He has also had to be a bit patient because Andros Townsend and Jeff Schlupp are very good players in those positions too.

“It was the right time today to unleash him as it were, he certainly responded and lived up to the expectations that I have of him.”
