Romelu Lukaku hails Antonio Conte, reveals how the Italian improved him as a player

Conte-Lukaku-Inter Milan

Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku has hailed the impact of Antonio Conte on his game since joining the club.

The Belgian believes that the advice from the Italian manager has helped him improve his all-round game.

The former Manchester United striker further expressed his admiration for Conte by claiming that he would fight to the death for the Inter Milan manager.

Lukaku’s all-round game was heavily criticized during his time at Old Trafford, but Conte has managed to develop him into a complete forward.

The Inter Milan striker claims that Conte helped him learn how to play with his back to the goal, and that has improved his contribution to the team’s attacking play apart from just scoring goals.

“I would fight to the death for him. I couldn’t join him at Chelsea, but I always said I would play for him the day I left Manchester United,” the Belgian striker told La Tribune.

“Conte told me very directly: ‘If you don’t work in training, you won’t play, you must know how to play with your back to goal’.

“It’s important to meet people who tell you the absolute truth to help you improve.”

The Belgian international scored 21 goals for the Italian outfit in the League so far, and he has certainly justified the £73 million Inter Milan decided to spend on him.

Inter Milan have managed to win the Scudetto after 11 years, and Antonio Conte has been instrumental to their success this season.

After a disappointing season last year, which saw Inter Milan lose the Europa League final against Sevilla, Conte has managed to rally his squad together and fight back vigorously to win the title this season.
