Chelsea midfielder Jorginho was one of the best players of the Italian national team that lifted the European Championship.
The 29-year-old was the heartbeat of Roberto Mancini’s side as he racked up some impressive numbers to show that he was arguably the tournament’s best midfielder.
It couldn’t get bigger for Jorginho as he had earlier led Chelsea to the Champions League glory, meaning that he has won a European double in the same season.
His spectacular form has caught the eyes of Europe’s top clubs, especially Juventus, confirmed by his agent Joao Santos.
However, Santos ruled out a possible return to Serie A for Jorginho, insisting that he would stay put at Stamford Bridge next season.
Santos said: “I confirm it. These interests have arrived.
“Of course, at 29, he can do very well in all the top European clubs, and many are interested in him.”
He has a two-year contract, and it’s all in the hands of the club. There is the World Club Championship. There is the European Super Cup.
“For a footballer, these are important goals. But, the transfer market is always the transfer market, and if a major club comes forward seriously with Chelsea, then we will evaluate. At the moment, Jorginho will play it at Chelsea next season.”
Although Santos hinted that Jorginho could consider playing for another top team in future, Chelsea wouldn’t be letting him leave soon as he has been cited as integral to Thomas Tuchel’s plans.
Tuchel will be aiming at the Premier League next season and wants to have a player like Jorginho at his disposal.
The former Napoli star is now being considered as one of the favourites to win the Ballon d’Or award.
