Barca in negotiations with Fiorentina for the loan move of Miralem Pjanic

Barcelona are trying to offload Miralem Pjanic, who is not in the plans of Ronald Koeman.

Juventus were thought to be a possible destination for Pjanic as reports emerged that Max Allegri wanted to reunite with the Bosnian.

However, Juve have cooled their interest in Pjanic following Manuel Locatelli’s transfer.

According to a new report, another Serie A club Fiorentina are showing interest in the 31-year and Barca are understood to be locked in negotiations over a loan deal.

As La Viola can’t afford Pjanic’s high-end salary, they are willing to pay a part of it.

The Catalan club wants Fiorentina to pay around €4.5m of his €6.5m salary.

Pjanic moved from Juventus to Camp Nou in a straight swap deal for Arthur, but he endured a difficult first season in Spain.

The Bosnian international went down the pecking order of Koeman and also didn’t start in two of La Liga’s games this season.

Sevilla offered Luuk de Jong to Barca

Barca have been offered the chance to sign Sevilla striker Luuk de Jong.

The Dutch striker’s future at Sevilla is hanging in the balance following the arrival of Rafa Mir from Wolves.

De Jong, who had previously endured a disappointing spell at Newcastle United, was a huge success at PSV before he moved to La Liga in 2019.

The 30-year-old has been crucial to the Andalusian outfit over the last two seasons, coming up with important goals.

Besides the Catalan club, West Ham and his former club PSV are interested in signing him before the transfer window closes.

It will be highly doubtful whether Barca can afford another signing due to their financial crisis. Neither is he the player of the highest quality that the Catalan club are looking for.
