Barcelona plotting summer swoop for £54 million Tottenham ace

Barcelona appointed Ronald Koeman as new manager

Barcelona have been linked with a move for the Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

The Frenchman joined Tottenham for a fee of £54 million but he has not been able to showcase his talent consistently.

Tanguy Ndombele struggled to fit in at Tottenham last season but he has certainly improved a lot this year.

Barcelona were keen on signing the midfielder last summer as well and they are considering a fresh move at the end of this season now.

Tottenham will be looking to recoup the money they paid for Tanguy Ndombele if they are forced to sell the midfielder next summer and it remains to be seen whether Barcelona can afford that.

The Catalan giants have their own financial problems and they missed out on key targets like Memphis Depay and Lautaro Martinez earlier in the summer.

Furthermore Tottenham might not be keen on selling the midfielder as well. he has managed to establish himself as an important player for Jose Mourinho and it would be very surprising if the Portuguese sanctioned his departure at the end of this season.

There is no doubt that Tanguy Ndombele has world-class potential and he could develop into a superstar in future.

In theory, he should be a good fit for the Spanish club. He could form an impressive partnership with Frenkie De Jong. The two midfielders are likely to complement each other’s skill set perfectly.
