Barca transfer updates: Martinez update, Dest transfer imminent, Man City ace offered, La Liga striker eyed as Suarez replacement, Garcia update
Barca to end pursuit of Martinez
Barcelona have decided to step down from the pursuit of Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez. The Argentine has been valued around 90m pounds, which Barca find it unaffordable amid the current circumstances. Now, Ronald Koeman prefers to add reinforcements to defence than signing a new striker. Martinez, whose contract is set to expire in 2023, is expected to sign a new deal with Nerazzurri.
Sergino Dest to Barca imminent
Barca are expected to announce the signing of Sergino Dest soon and the right-back has bid farewell to his Ajax teammates. The Catalans have won the race with Bayern Munich for the signing of Dest. The USMNT international is set to sign a five-year contract at the Nou Camp while Ajax would receive a fee worth 20m euros.
Oleksandr Zinchenko to Barca
Manchester City have reportedly prepared to offer their left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko to Barcelona. The Ukrainian has become an important squad player for Pep Guardiola, but Citizens are still willing to sell him. Zinchenko is currently playing as a deputy to Benjamin Mendy at left-back though he can play as a midfielder.
Barca eye Isak as Suarez alternative
Barcelona have turned their attention towards Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak in search for a replacement for Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan recently made his move to Atletico Madrid. Koeman wants to bring in a new striker to fill Suarez’s void, and Isak is the latest target. However, the Swede’s high price could be a hindrance in signing him.
Barca to make a final attempt for Garcia
Barcelona are set to make a final offer for Manchester City defender Eric Garcia. The Spanish defender, who turns out to be a top target for the Catalans, could leave the Etihad with the imminent arrival of Ruben Dias. Barca have already an offer worth 10m euro turned down by Man City for Garcia.
