Tottenham will host fellow London club Chelsea in the fourth-round of EFL Cup.

Chelsea are coming off an unconvincing performance against Crystal Palace in the Premier League although Frank Lampard’s pulled off a draw in the injury time. Neither were they good against Liverpool in the 2-0 defeat.

Edouard Mendy, the new goalkeeper who has been signed from Rennes, could make his debut while Ben Chilwell could also feature after a brief injury lay off.

Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz are also likely to get the nod, and they could use this opportunity to gain confidence, especially the latter one

Tottenham Hotspur 

Tottenham would be still ruing the result they had against Newcastle in the weekend, drawing 1-1 after a controversial penalty awarded to the Magpies in the eleventh hour.

Spurs had a rough start to the season, losing the opening game against Everton. Nonetheless, their performances in Europa League qualifying games has been excellent.

Jose Mourinho would be a busy manager as the fixture against Chelsea would mark their third one in the space of a week.

Mourinho is set to miss the services of Heung-min Son, who has been hit with a hamstring injury, and Moussa Sissoko while Gareth Bale’s debut is far off due to his knee injury.

However, Sergio Reguilon could make his anticipated debut against the Blues.
