After sealing their place in La Liga last season last by the thinnest of margins, Getafe will return to the league this Monday looking to start better than they did last term.
The hosts finished the season with 39 points, just one ahead of Granada who finished in 18th place. They also recorded the least number of goals of the 17 teams that survived relegation (33 goals) but made up for their lack of goals with a resilient defence that shipped in only 41 goals last season–the fifth-best defence in La Liga last year.

The visitors have been impeccable in their friendlies, winning all four games, while conceding just once. They scored four times in three of those games, including against Juventus, and kept three clean sheets; including against Manchester United.
And so, if pre-season form is anything to go by, Diego Simeone will feel that his team is very ready to begin the season. The Argentine is heading into a club-record 12th season in charge and will be desperate for his side to be in the title reckoning come the end of the season.
