Newcastle are keen on signing Ciro Immobile from Lazio this summer.
According to reports, the Magpies are willing to break their transfer record to sign the Italian striker.
Newcastle are prepared to bid around £50m for the Italian international and they will offer him wages of around £275,000-a-week as well.
It will be interesting to see if they can agree on a fee with Lazio in the coming weeks.
Premier League giants Manchester United are thought to be keen on the player as well. They want the Italian to replace Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian joined Inter Milan this season and he has not been replaced yet.
Ciro Immobile is one of the best goalscorers in Europe and he would be a stunning addition to Newcastle’s attack. The 30-year-old has scored 94 goals in 131 Serie A games for Lazio.
His goalscoring numbers speak volumes about his quality and Newcastle would be lucky to have him.
Regardless of his age, Immobile could make a big difference for Steve Bruce’s side in the short term.
Immobile has 30 goals to his name this season and he is leading Lazio’s title charge. It remains to be seen whether he can guide them to an unlikely title win this season.
If he does, his price is likely to increase a lot and Lazio might not want to part with his services.
It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds over the next few weeks.
