The Barcelona midfielder is finally set to leave this summer.

Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic is finally set to leave the Nou Camp after nearly six years.

According to reports, Rakitic has agreed to a two-year deal with his former club Sevilla and has the option to extend his stay for another year. He has reportedly had his medical ahead of the transfer.

The Croatian midfielder will take a significant pay cut of around 4 million pounds than he earned at Barca. Rakitic’s yearly wages were reported to be 7 million pounds at Barca last season.

Rakitic was previously told that the Blaugrana wouldn’t be counting on him for the next season.

The 32-year-old had been ostracized by then manager Ernesto Valverde for the majority of the last season before Quique Setien gave Rakitic the wild card.

The former Schalke star was one of the several players deemed transferable by the Catalans after enduring a horrible season last term.

Rakitic’s journey with the Catalans was impressive bar the previous season. He has made around 300 appearances, the fourth-highest by a foreign player in the history of Barca. His trophy cabinet is also nothing short of greatness.

Sevilla would benefit from the services of Rakitic as his experience would be helpful in their Champions League campaign next season.

The Croatian is expected to fill in the shoes of Ever Banega, who recently parted ways with the Andalusian outfit.
