Barcelona president Joan Laporta dreams of uniting Cristiano Ronaldo with Lionel Messi at the Catalan club.

According to reports, an offer has not been presented to the player or his agent Jorge Mendes, but Laporta is planning a blockbuster move to sign the Portuguese international.

The Barcelona president could offer a few players along with cash for Cristiano Ronaldo and some of the names mentioned as makeweight are Antoine Griezmann, Sergi Roberto and Philippe Coutinho.

Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from Juventus for weeks now, and it will be interesting to see if the Italian club can hold onto him.

Despite being 36, the Portuguese international has been in sensational form for club and country.

He was the top scorer for Juventus in the Italian league last season, and he has managed to score three goals in the European Championships so far.

Messi and Ronaldo are undoubtedly the best players of their generation, and to get them playing in the same team would be a massive achievement.

Barcelona have struggled to win the major trophies in recent seasons, and the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo could transform their side.

However, the Portuguese international has a close bond with Real Madrid fans, and it will be interesting to see if he is willing to cross the great divide.

Furthermore, the economic conditions of the transfer could be complicated as well. For example, Cristiano Ronaldo would command a massive salary, and Barcelona are already struggling to pay Lionel Messi.

They might have to offload several players in order to afford the Portuguese superstar this summer.
