Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City this summer, but the England international could now perform a U-turn and sign a new deal with the club.

According to the latest reports, it might be too late for Manchester City to sign the player now, and Daniel Levy is unlikely to sanction his departure late on in the window.

Apparently, there are noises coming out from around the player’s camp that a new contract cannot be ruled out.

Football London correspondent Alasdair Gold said: “I’m intrigued to see where this goes now for Kane and ‘Camp Kane’ as it where – that’s not calling him ‘camp’, it’s more the people around him – there’s little bits of noises coming out from around his camp not to entirely rule out a new contract for him, which would be an incredible U-turn or a turnaround.”

The 28-year-old is one of the best strikers in the world, and it is no surprise that the Premier League champions are looking to sign him. City have recently lost Sergio Aguero to Barcelona, and they need to bring in a quality replacement.

Harry Kane would have been an ideal fit for them, but the Londoners seem reluctant to let the player leave.

The report adds that Tottenham have been quite ambitious in the transfer market so far, and that could help convince the England international to commit his long term future to the club.

Kane already has a contract with Tottenham until the summer of 2024, and the Londoners are under no pressure to cash in on him just yet. It will be interesting to see if all parties can secure an agreement in the coming weeks, and end the speculations surrounding Kane’s future.
