Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has made a heart-warming prediction regarding the future of Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane.
The French striker has stated that the manager would not leave the Spanish giants this season.
The Madrid legend has been subject to transfer speculations in the media and is reportedly set to walk away from the Spanish capital due to the pressures of managing the biggest club in the world.
Although Madrid ended the season without a trophy, many fans still see Zidane as the man to restore Madrid to glory.
And now Benzema has also come out to declare his support for the manager who led to club to three Champions League wins.
Speaking to L’Equipe on the manager’s future, Benzema remained optimistic, claiming that Zidane would remain at the club.
“I don’t see him leaving. He will not leave; you will see,” Benzema said.
“Zizou [has] always been honest with me. I respect him a lot as he is very direct. Gives me a lot of confidence. Zidane is Real Madrid coach. I don’t see him leaving. At the moment, I don’t see Madrid without Zidane.”
Benzema certainly shares a close bond with the manager as he was one of the only Madrid players to step up last season. The striker found the back of the net 30 times in all competitions this season, leading to his being called up to the French Euro 2020 squad after a six-year absence.
With Zidane’s future still up in the air, it remains to be seen if Benzema’s prediction will come to pass.
