Real Madrid fabricating Haaland interest

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid in recent months.

The 20-year-old striker has scored 33 goals in just 32 matches in all competitions this season and it is no surprise that the top clubs are looking to sign him in the summer.

However, reports claim that Real Madrid are not actually keen on signing the player and they are fabricating transfer interest in the Norwegian in order to drive the price up for other prospective buyers.

Apparently, the player could cost around £154 million this summer and Real Madrid are not prepared to work with his agent Mino Raiola.

Haaland has been linked with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Barcelona as well and it will be interesting to see where the player ends up eventually.

Barcelona aware Haaland transfer will be difficult

Meanwhile Real Madrid’s bitter rivals Barcelona plan to pursue the signing of Erling Haaland after meeting his representatives last week.

However, the Spanish club are aware of the fact that the transfer will be very difficult because of the finances involved.

Newly appointed Barcelona president Joan Laporta met with the striker’s agent Mino Raiola and his father Alf-Inge Haaland in Barcelona on Thursday to discuss a transfer.

It will be interesting to see if Barcelona can agree to Borussia Dortmund’s demands for the striker and then agree on a reasonable contract with the player.

The Spanish club’s gross debt has risen to €1.2 billion and they are in desperate need of finances. Barcelona will have to reduce their wage bill this summer and quite a few players could be on the chopping block.

It will be interesting to see if the Spanish outfit can get rid of their deadwood and finance a move for Haaland in the summer.
