Real Madrid eyeing up a move for Arsenal’s William Saliba

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing the Arsenal defender William Saliba at the end of this season.

According to a report from the Express, the Spanish La Liga giants have identified the talented young centre back as a target.

Saliba has failed to establish himself as a key player for Arsenal since joining the club more than two years ago.

The defender has been sent out on a series of loan spells, and the Frenchman is currently playing for Marseille.

Saliba has been quite impressive during his loan spell in the South of France, and he is set to return to Arsenal at the end of the season.

It will be interesting to see whether manager Mikel Arteta is willing to give the youngster a chance in the starting lineup next season.

The Gunners have recently signed the likes of Ben White to improve their defensive options, and Saliba might find it difficult to hold down a starting berth next season as well.

In that case, a move away from Arsenal would be ideal for the youngster.

Saliba is highly rated across Europe, and he has the potential to develop into a top-class defender.

He needs to join a club where he is rated highly, and he will get to play regular first-team football.

A move to Real Madrid might not be the best option for him at this stage of his career, but they are a massive club, and it would be difficult for the player to turn them down.

It is no secret that Real Madrid will have to bring in defensive reinforcements in the summer after losing Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane at the start of the season.

Saliba could be an excellent long term acquisition, but the youngster might struggle to play regularly right away.
