Fiorentina are set to part with their newly appointed manager Gennaro Gattuso just after 23 days.

The former AC Milan midfielder was appointed as the club’s new manager on the 25th of May. Still, he has chosen to leave his post owing to disagreements with the club regarding transfer targets and the general direction they are heading in.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Fiorentina are not willing to accept his transfer demands, and they would prefer to conduct some bargain investments this summer.

It appears that Gattuso wants the club to be ambitious in the transfer market, and some of the players proposed to the club by his agent Jorge Mendes are likely to cost good money.

The report further states that Fiorentina are now looking to appoint a successor for Gattuso, and the club’s management is already working to bring Rudi Garcia to the club.

The Italian outfit have been in contact with Garcia in recent months, and it will be interesting to see if they can finalise his appointment in the coming weeks.

Gattuso was linked with a move to Tottenham before joining Fiorentina, and it remains to be seen what the former Italian international decides.

He was the manager of Napoli this past season, and the Serie A outfit finished 5th in the table, just one point behind Champions League qualification.

Gattuso did a reasonably good job at Napoli despite missing out on Champions League qualification, and there is unlikely to be a shortage of offers for him this summer.
