Real Madrid have tied down Rodrygo Goes to a new long-term contract.

The Brazilian forward, who was instrumental as the club won the Champions League last week, signed a new deal that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2028.

The young forward joined the La Liga club’s first team in 2019, and the Spanish giants felt compelled to improve and extend his deal that was due to expire in 2025.

Rodrygo played a big role in Real Madrid’s latest Champions League triumph, scoring important goals against Chelsea in the quarter-finals before scoring a crucial brace against Manchester City late on in the semi-finals.

The deal for the forward will reportedly include a one billion euros release clause, as has become the norm at Real Madrid for key players, a symbolic ‘hands-off’ figure.

Meanwhile, Rodrygo, speaking with ABC in comments carried by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, revealed that playing for Madrid is a realization of his dream.

The Brazilian, who’s earned five caps for his country and scored one goal, has contributed 18 goals and 21 assists in 108 games for Madrid.
