The striker duo has emerged as top targets for Citizens, who are reportedly set for squad overhaul in the summer.
Manchester City are looking for a major squad overhaul in the summer, with the club’s hierarchy willing to spend up to £200m for reinforcements.
According to reports, Man City have made Dortmund striker Erling Haaland and Inter’s Romelu Lukaku as priorities to bolster the attacking options.
Haaland is understood to be on the radar of Europe’s top clubs and City are now looking to rival them for his signature.
The Norwegian striker has been relentless since wearing the Dortmund colours, translating his form from RB Salzburg. Haaland has 12 goals to his name in Bundesliga this season, 9 short of top scorer Robert Lewandowski.
Furthermore, it was reported earlier that the 20-year-old has a £75m release clause in his contract, which will come into existence only in 2022.
Elsewhere, Lukaku has gone from a flop star at Manchester United to one of the top strikers in Europe currently due to his resurgence at Inter Milan. The 26-year-old has recuperated well from his forgetful stint at Old Trafford, amassing goals for Antonio Conte’s side.
Man City are left with Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus as the only striker options with both of them suffering injuries this season.
Aguero is nearing the end of his current deal although City are hopeful that the Argentine would extend his stay, at least for one more season.
