Real Madrid

After their disappointing exit in the Copa del Rey, Real Madrid will look to get back to winning ways in La Liga when they welcome Granada to the Bernabeu.

The La Liga leaders were dumped out of the Copa del Rey on Thursday by Athletic Bilbao, who scored the only goal of the game in the 89th minute through Alex Berenguer.

However, in La Liga, they remain the best team and are currently sitting on top of the table with 50 points from 22 games. The closest challengers Sevilla are currently four points behind, while regular challengers, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, are 14 and 15 points, respectively.

Los Blancos, however, have shown signs of weakness in recent times. They have won just one of their last five games (90 minutes only) and needed a miracle to get a point against Elche last time out after going two goals down.

With a mouthwatering last UCL 16 clash to come against PSG on February 16th, the hosts will certainly be preparing for it. But they cannot afford to take their eyes off their La Liga title quest.

Possible Real Madrid starting line-up

Courtois; Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao, Nacho, Davi Alaba; Luka Modric, Casemiro, Toni Kroos; Marco Asensio, Karim Benzema, Rodrygo.

Injured: Mariano Diaz, Freeland Mendy

Doubtful: None

Suspended: Vinicius Junior

Granada

Struggling Granada will look to halt a run of two consecutive league defeats when they face Real Madrid on Sunday.

The visitors were beaten 4-2 by Getafe on January 20 before suffering a 2-0 loss at home to Osasuna in their game just before the international break.

They are winless across their last four games (D2, L2) have won five, drawn nine and lost eight of their 22 league games this season. With 24 points so far, they are currently sitting in the 14th spot on the table, six points clear of the relegation zone.

Robert Moreno’s side will be desperate to win this game to avoid sliding down the table. But given that their next three games are against Real Madrid, Real Sociedad and Villarreal, they face an almost impossible task. They have not beaten Real Madrid in La Liga since February 2013, losing each of the last 13 league games between the two sides.

Possible Granada starting line-up

Maximiano; Diaz, Sanchez, Torrente, Neva; Collado, Milla, Gonalons, Puertas; Molina, Suarez.

Injured: Neyder Lozano and Santiago Arias

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None
