Sevilla agree deal to sign Isco Alarcon on a free transfer

Isco-Real Madrid

Spanish international midfielder Isco Alarcon has agreed to join Sevilla on a free transfer this summer.

The 30-year-old midfielder left Real Madrid after his contract expired with the Spanish giants earlier on in the summer.

Isco will be hoping to hold down a regular starting berth at Sevilla this season and get his career back on track.

The midfielder will be desperate to cement his position in the World Cup squad and he needs to play regularly in order for that to happen.

The 30-year-old was a squad player for Real Madrid in his last few seasons with the club and he managed to make just 17 appearances across all competitions last season.

When Isco joined Real Madrid, he was one of the biggest prospects in Spanish football and he was expected to develop into a world-class footballer. However, the lack of regular game time halted his development and the midfielder never really fulfilled his potential.

However, he is still a very good player and Sevilla are likely to improve with him on the side.

The midfielder knows the Spanish league well having played there all his life and he should be able to settle in quickly and make an immediate impact at Sevilla this season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Julen Lopetegui played a key role in the transfer and he was determined to bring the Spanish international to the club this summer.

It will be interesting to see whether the Sevilla manager can get the best out of the former Real Madrid player now.
