Lyon

Olympique Lyonnais welcome their rivals to another Choc des Olympiques desperate to get a win.

The home team were beaten 4-1 by Rennes in their last game before the international break and will do all they can to get back to winning ways.

They were expected to mount a title challenge this season but have floundered so far. They enter this tie sitting in the eighth spot on the league table, having won five of their opening 13 games (D4, L4).

Lyon’s main issue has been their defence though as they have conceded 21 goals this term – the most of any side in the top half of Ligue 1.

A win here will do them much good and keep them within the top eight.

Meanwhile, Peter Bosz will be without Habib Keita, Moussa Dembele and Leo Dubois who are all injured.

Possible Lyon starting line-ups

Anthony Lopes, Sinaly Diomande, Damien Da Silva, Jason Denayer, Emerson Palmieri, Maxence Caqueret, Thiago Mendes, Lucas Paqueta, Xherdan Shaqiri, Houssem Aouar, Karl Toko Ekambi.

Injured: Leo Dubois, Habib Keita, Moussa Dembele, Lenny Pintor, Jeff Reine-Adelaide

Doubtful: None

Suspended: Tino Kadewere

Marseille

Marseille’s have started the 2021/22 league campaign with six wins, five draws and two losses in their opening 13 games.

That run of results have them perched in fourth place on the league table, but eleven points behind PSG who are topping the table.

Jorge Stampaoli’s side come into this tie unbeaten in their last seven games. They were held to a goalless draw in their last game against Metz and will be desperate to get a win here to avoid falling out of the top four places.

Meanwhile, Leonardo Balerdi is suspended for this game, while Cengiz Under is a doubt with a back injury.

Possible Marseille starting line-ups

Steve Mandanda, Pol Lirola, William Saliba, Duje Caleta-Car, Luan Peres, Gerson, Matteo Guendouzi, Konrad De La Fuente, Luis Henrique, Dimitri Payet, Arkadiusz Milik.

Injured: Cengiz Under

Doubtful: None

Suspended: Leonardo Balerdi

Prediction

Lyon 1-1 Marseille.
