Strasbourg

After another frustrating outing in the Ligue 1, Strasbourg will host title hopefuls Marseille looking to get just their second win of the season.

The hosts were held to a frustrating 2-2 draw against Toulouse last time in a game that saw them come from two goals down to draw. They even had an opportunity to take home all three points but were denied a blatant penalty late in the game.

After the game, manager Julien Stéphan admitted that he is “fed up” with bad refereeing decisions that are preventing his Strasbourg side from pulling clear of the Ligue 1 relegation zone.

That result means that the hosts have still only picked up one win from 12 games this season (D6, L5), while they have conceded at least two goals in each of their last five outings.

Worryingly, they also remain one of only three teams yet to pick up a home win in Ligue 1, with Stade de la Meinau witnessing three stalemates and three away victories so far this season.

They will hope that things change though and luck shines on them when they welcome a struggling Marseille side they have failed to beat in their last 13 tries.

Possible Strasbourg starting line-up

Marseille

After recording another poor outing, this time in the Champions League, pressure is growing on Igor Tudor in Marseille.

Things were not always going to be easy for the Croatian after he took over a disjointed and undisciplined team from Jorge Sampaoli. However, after a wobbly start to the season, he managed to steady the ship and led Marseille on a strong start that saw them go toe-to-toe with Paris Saint-Germain for several weeks.

But things have grown sour in recent weeks, with the Olympians losing four out of their last five games in all competitions (W1). The most recent of those losses came on Wednesday when they were beaten 2-1 in the UCL by Eintracht Frankfurt, putting their chances of qualifying for the knockout round in jeopardy. That loss made it three losses in a row for Tudor’s men as it followed a 1-0 loss to Lens at the weekend.

With their recent wobble causing them to drop out of the UCL places in the league table, they will hope to avoid another dropped point as they bid to remain close to PSG in the title race.

They will fancy their chances of getting a win here as they have generally been strong on the road in Ligue 1, picking up three wins in five outings (D1, L1) and conceding just two goals – only PSG have a better defensive record.

Possible Marseille starting line-up

Pau Lopez; Chancel Mbemba, Leonardo Balerdi, Sead Kolašinac; Jonathan Clauss, Valentin Rongier, Jordan Veretout, Nuno Tavares; Matteo Guendouzi, Amine Harit; Alexis Sanchez.

Injured: Pedro Ruiz, Eric Bailly
