Crystal Palace 0-2 Manchester City: Aguero with a sublime goal as City get closer to the title

Sergio Aguero-Manchester City

Sergio Aguero and Ferran Torres scored back to back goals in the second half to beat Crystal Palace.

Manchester City secured a comprehensive 2-0 win over Crystal Palace after goals from Sergio Aguero and Ferran Torres in the second half.

City were coming off a huge win against PSG and keeping in mind the second leg next week, Pep Guardiola rested some of the key players while giving starts to the likes of Sergio Aguero, Ferran Torres and Raheem Sterling.

The first half saw no goals from both sides but the home side nearly pulled one after Benteke’s shot was thwarted by Ederson. At the other end, Gabriel Jesus had a goal disallowed for offside.

City dominated the second half and the breakthrough came through the boots of Sergio Aguero. The soon-to-be departed striker controlled his first touch from Benjamin Mendy’s cross before blasting the nets in a typical fashion.

Ferran Torres doubled the lead in no time as City cruised to a cruising win and also extended their lead to 13 points at the top of the table.

Everybody has been craving to see such a performance from Aguero before he leaves City for good at the end of this season.

The city might have picked up a thumping win to get closer to the Premier League title but Aguero’s goal added cherry to the cake.

Besides, Torres has been chipping in with goals of late as he had scored two in the last three games for Citizens. The Spanish winger has racked up a total of 10 goals and 3 assists in all competitions in his debut season despite being down the pecking order of Guardiola.
