Latest performances in all competitions
Paris Saint Germain return to domestic action and in search of their eleventh win of the season when they welcome Troyes to the Parc des Princes.
La Parisiens continued their impressive start to the season with yet another dominant win over Maccabi Haifa in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.
The attacking trident of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr were too much for the Israeli side to handle and they combined to devastating effect to send PSG into the knockout rounds of the UEFA competition. A brace from Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi, coupled with goals from Neymar Jr, Carlos Soler and an own goal from Shon Goldberg gave Christophe Galtier’s side all three points, with Abdoulaye Seck grabbing two consolation goals for the away side, to bring the entertaining tie to an end, with the score line at 7-2.
PSG secured a 0-3 win over Ajaccio last time out in Ligue 1, with another dominant display from Lionel Messi who grabbed two goals and set up another for Kylian Mbappe, making sure Christophe Galtier’s side did not miss a beat in the title race, as they extended their lead at the top to five points.
The French tactician will be keen for more of the same from his side when they take on Troyes. And with an impeccable home record this season, coupled with the attacking armada at his disposal, Christophe Galtier has little to fear when Troyes roll into town.
Possible PSG starting line-up
Gianluigi Donnarumma; Achraf Hakimi, Nordi Mukiele, Marquinhos, Juan Bernat; Fabian Ruiz, Renato Sanches, Vitinha; Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, Neymar.
Injured: Nuno Mendes, Presnel Kimpembe, Timothee Pembele, Danilo Pereira
Troyes on the other hand will be on the hunt for their first win in their last four games. A winless run which stretches back to October second.
ESTAC come into this game off the back of a 2-2 draw with Lorient last weekend. An own goal from Julien Laporte and Marcos Lopes helped Bruno Irle’s side salvage a point from the encounter, with Quentin Boisgard and Stephane Diarra doing the same on the other end.
The draw against Lorient kept Troyes in eleventh place, with 13 points from three wins, four draws and five defeats, four points away from the relegation zones.
However, Troyes will be keen to improve their standing in the league by securing a good result against the league leaders, but face an uphill task against a team they have failed to beat in their last five encounters.
But with the last encounter between both teams ending in a 2-2 draw at the Parc des Princes, Troyes will fancy their chances of getting a good result against the champions.
Possible Troyes starting line-up
Mateusz Lis; Jackson Poroz, Yoann Salmier, Erik Palmer-Brown; Thierno Baldé, Wilson Odobert, Xavier Chavalerin, Rominigue Kouame, Abdu Conte; Rony Lopes, Mama Balde.
Injured: Florian Tardieu, Lucien Agoumé, Karim Azamoum
