Liverpool FC transfer round-up: Grujic set for a loan move, Wilson and Brewster on English clubs’ radar, Shaqiri stance

Liverpool have made three additions namely Kostas Tsimikas, Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota in the transfer window thus far. With no more likely signings, the Reds are preparing for an exodus of players. However, the defending Premier League champions are set to keep youngsters like Neco Williams and Curtis Jones with the first-team.

Grujic on his way to Bundesliga

Marko Grujic is likely to return to Hertha Berlin on loan after the Bundesliga club found it difficult to pay his fee of 18m pounds. It will mark Grujic’s third successive season on loan, having spent the 2018/19 season with Cardiff City. Last season, the Serbian midfielder fared well for Hertha Berlin, finding the net nine times.

Wilson and Brewster tipped to leave

Besides Grujic, Harry Wilson and Rhian Brewster are also expected to leave Anfield before the end of the transfer window. Wilson is wanted by fellow Premier League club Burnley over a 12m pounds move. Meanwhile, Brewster, who is infamous for his penalty miss in the Community Shield final, is on the radar of Sheffield United. The trio is said to be keen on first-team football, which is difficult at the moment with the Reds.

Klopp talks Shaqiri

Jurgen Klopp has hinted about Xherdan Shaqiri’s exit after dropping him out of the squad for the EFL Cup fixture against Arsenal. Liverpool would lose the game on penalties.

Klopp said,

“It’s the time of the year where something has happened in the background.

“We have to react sometimes and that’s what we did.”
