Everton agree £25m signing of Championship ace

Carlo Ancelotti - Everton Manager

Everton have agreed on a deal to sign Ben Godfrey from Norwich City.

The 22-year-old defender was highly impressive for Norwich last season and it is no surprise that the likes of Everton are interested in him.

Godfrey has a big future ahead of him and he needs to play at a higher level. Norwich have been relegated to the championship and a move back to the Premier League would be ideal for the young defender.

The 22 year old needs to join a club where he can play regularly at a high level. A move to Everton should prove to be beneficial for his career.

The Toffees have a great project and a world class manager like Carlo Ancelotti at the helm.

The Italian manager could help the youngster continue his development and grow as a defender.

According to reports, Everton will pay around £25 million for the Norwich defender.

It will be interesting to see how Godfrey performs at Goodison Park this season. He has the talent and the maturity to succeed in the Premier League right now but he might need some time to settle in and adapt to Ancelotti’s style first.

Everton have improved their midfield considerably with the signings of Doucoure, Allan and Rodriguez this summer. They needed to improve their defence as well.

The addition of Godfrey could really help them challenge for European qualification this season.
