Manchester City picked up an impressive 4-0 win over Watford in the Premier League earlier.
Goals from Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden and Aymeric Laporte sealed the victory for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The away side are now up to 75 points and they will be looking to win their remaining game and finish as strongly as possible now. It could give them confidence as they plan to win back their title next season.
Sterling scored a first-half double for the away side. The winger opened the scoring on the 31st minute and then he bagged his 19th goal of the season to double Man City’s lead on 40 minutes.
Phil Foden scored the third goal of the game around the hour mark and Sterling was involved once again. His shot was saved by Foster and Foden followed it up.
A few minutes later, Kevin De Bruyne set up Aymeric Laporte for Manchester City’s fourth goal of the night.
Watford will be terribly disappointed with the defeat and survival is no longer in their hands now.
The Hornets are now 18th in the table and they have an inferior goal difference compared to Aston Villa. If Dean Smith’s men can match their result in the next game, Villa will be safe from relegation and Watford will go down.
Watford will take on Arsenal away from home in their final game of the season.
Meanwhile, Manchester City will host the already relegated Norwich City at home.
