Manchester United beat Liverpool 3-2 in the fourth round of FA Cup at Old Trafford. With the result of the roller-coaster, 5-goal thriller, Manchester United remain unbeaten against Liverpool for eight home matches.

Manchester United started off with David De Gea, Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial on the bench, whereas Dean Henderson, Donny van de Beek and Edinson Cavani were in starting line up.

Jurgen Klopp’s side started with Curtis Jones and Rhys Williams in starting line up.

Mohamed Salah opened the scoresheet at 18th minute, from a through off Firmino, as he swiftly chipped the ball over Dean Henderson to draw the first blood.

Mason Greenwood levelled the score 1-1 from a long ball from Marcus Rashford a few minutes later. Greenwood provided a similar assist to Rashford just after the break, Rashford, in turn, placed it through Brazilian goalie Allison to provide Red Devil 2-1 lead.

It was Mo Salah, once again who scored to level the scoreline around an hour mark.

This was the time when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer brought Fred and Bruno Fernandez replacing Greenwood and Donny van de Beek, with clearly Bruno and Pogba having a more attacking role.

Jurgen Klopp brought Sadio Mane, after withdrawing Georginio Wijnaldum, which is clearly an attacking move.

But it was Bruno Fernandez who made the difference between two teams when he scored from a direct free kick from 20 years at 78th minute. The ball which flew over Thiago Alcantara and Paul Pogba through Alisson’s side, but the Red goalie did not have a chance to save the ball.

There were changes made by both the managers, but these were not enough to tilt the game any further.

With United turned victorious, many pundits think that this is an indication of what we are going to observe in Premier League.

Liverpool have Virgil Van Dijk and Jordan Henderson to join the squad after their injury lay-off, so is Joe Gomez. Their presence will add more muscle to the Reds defence. There will be twist and turn which would add unpredictability to the Premier league race further, but for now, current Champion Liverpool have to chase the league title, as Manchester sides are fighting for the top spot.
