Tottenham ready to offer Son a bumper pay rise

Southampton 2-5 Tottenham Son thrashed four goals, Kane scored the fifth

Tottenham are in talks with Son Heung-Min regarding a contract extension and club chairman Daniel Levy has now personally intervened in the process.

According to reports, the London club are now prepared to offer the South Korean a bumper pay rise which will see him earn similar wages to that of Harry Kane.

Son has been in outstanding form this season and he has managed to score 10 goals already.

The South Korean is a key player for Jose Mourinho and it is hardly surprising that Tottenham are willing to spend big money to keep him at the club for the long run.

Apparently Harry Kane earns around £200,000 per week and Gareth Bale is the highest-paid player at the club with wages of around £250k-a-week.

Son has been outperforming them so far this season and he deserves to be on the same pay bracket. Performance-related bonuses in Son’s reported new deal should take his wages close to what Bale earns at the club.

Tottenham will be hoping to win a trophy this season and Son will be crucial to their quest for silverware.

The Premier League club will be hoping to agree on a new deal before the end of the year and it will be interesting to see if the two parties can sort out an agreement in the coming weeks.

Tottenham fans will certainly be delighted to see that the club are proactive in their approach to keep a key player at the club for the long haul.

Recently, manager Jose Mourinho also revealed that the player deserves a new deal and the club are aware of that. He expects an agreement to be sorted soon.

Son is one of the best players in the Premier League right now and he has taken his game onto another level since the arrival of Jose Mourinho. He will be hoping to guide his team back into the Champions League and help them win a domestic trophy this season.
