Manchester United to target Barcelona winger Ansu Fati for €100m

Barcelona winger Ansu Fati is thought to be a target for Manchester United.

As per Sport, the Premier League giants were prepared to pay €100m for the player.

The report claims that Jorge Mendes tried to broker a deal and he offered €100m on behalf of United. However, Barcelona have turned it down.

They see the youngster has a key member of their first team going forward and any team wishing to sign him will have to pay his release clause which stands at €400m.

Ansu Fati is a world class talent and he has what it takes to develop into a star.

There is no doubt that he is capable of playing for a big club like Manchester United already.

With coaching and experience he could develop into a first team regular under Solskjaer.

That said, the move seems highly unlikely right now. No club in their right mind would trigger his release clause and make him the most expensive footballer on the planet.

In theory, it could have been a sensational coup for United had they managed to convince Barcelona.

Fati would add pace and flair to the United attack.

It will be interesting to see if the youngster gets his fair share of game time at Barcelona now. At this stage of his career, he needs to play more often.

Fati cannot afford to hurt his own development by sitting on the bench at Camp Nou. The youngster should push for a loan spell next season.
