Borussia Mönchengladbach picked up a 3-0 win over Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga yesterday.

Two goals from Jonas Hofmann and another from Lars Stindl have Gladbach a major boost in their pursuit of Champions League football for the next season.

It will be interesting to see if Gladbach can build on this and secure European qualification now. 

Gladbach went into this game after back-to-back defeats but they managed to put in a splendid display. The win will have given them some confidene and momentum. 

John Brooks and slipped the ball through for Hofmann’s first goal. The home side doubled their lead on the half-hour mark when Hofmann converted from Matthias Ginter’s.

The former Dortmund player could have had his hattrick but he squandered a good chance in the second half. 

Stindl put the game to bed with a side-footed. 

Wolfsburg struggled to get a foothold in the game and they had very few chances. Gladbach defended well and they deserved the three points in the end. 

They are now breathing down the necks of Bayer Leverkusen in a race for Champions League football.
