Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing the Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes during the January transfer window, and the midfielder could cost around £38 million.

According to a report from Globo Esporte, Italian outfit AS Roma are keen on signing the playmaker as well.

Jose Mourinho has identified the 24-year-old as a January target. It will be interesting to see if he can fend off the competition from Arsenal and secure his services next month.

The midfielder has been outstanding for the French club since his move from Atletico Paranaense in 2020 for a fee of around £17 million.

Lyon will be looking to make a hefty profit on the midfielder if they are forced to cash in on him next month, and it remains to be seen whether Arsenal are prepared to break the bank for his services.

It is no secret that the Gunners need to add more quality and depth to their midfield, and the signing of Bruno could prove to be a masterstroke in the long run.

The 24-year-old is yet to reach his peak as a footballer, and he could improve further with a move to the Premier League.

Arsenal have shown considerable improvement in recent weeks, and they will be hoping to finish in the Champions League places this season.

The Gunners need to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window in order to compete with the likes of Tottenham and Manchester United.

Signing Bruno would improve their squad considerably, and it remains to be seen whether the club hierarchy are willing to back Mikel Arteta in the transfer market next month.
