Arsenal confident of signing Youri Tielemans from Leicester City

Youri Tielemans-Leicester City

Arsenal are looking to sign the Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.

According to a report from the Sun, Mikel Arteta wants to sign the Belgian international midfielder this summer, and the Gunners are prepared to launch a £30 million offer for his services.

The midfielder is reportedly a target for Manchester United as well. Arsenal are confident of beating their Premier League rivals to his signature.

He has been linked with other Premier League clubs in recent months as well.

Tielemans has been a key player for Leicester City since joining the club a few years ago, and manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly reluctant to let the player leave. The Foxes paid a club-record fee of around £40 million for the services, but they are now under pressure to sell him because the player has just one year left on his current contract.

Leicester City cannot afford to lose a player of his quality on a free transfer, and therefore they have reluctantly agreed to let the player leave for a knock-down price this summer.

The report from Sun claims that Tielemans is keen on becoming a key part of Mikel Arteta’s project at Arsenal. Therefore the Gunners should not have any problems agreeing on personal terms with the midfielder.

Arsenal were initially keen on signing Ruben Neves from Wolves. Still, the Portuguese international is valued at £75 million, and the Gunners have decided to move on from him and pursue a more reasonable target.

Lazio midfielder Sergi Milinkoviv-Savic was on the North London club’s radar as well, but he is expected to cost more than £50 million.

The Belgian international midfielder seems like the ideal option for Arsenal right now, and it remains to be seen whether they can finalise the transfer in the coming weeks.

Arsenal have been quite busy in the transfer market this summer, and they have already signed quality players like Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira. It will be interesting to see if they can cap off a fine transfer window with the signing of Youri Tielemans now.
